ITEM #37 FEDERAL PERIOD HAND MIRROR (c. 1800) •: $225 :•  Description:
A handsome early Federal Period wood hand mirror. Veneered wood around face and top edge of oval mirror frame. Solid wood handle. Great patina.Mirror measures 13¾" in length. Oval frame is 7½" long and 6¼" wide. Handle is 6¼" long. Backing board is held in with four small square–cut nails. Click here to see closeup image of nail. Condition: The original glass appears to have been replaced some time ago. There may have been, at one time, an additional piece of wood or other back piece, possibly with a simple design. Current wood backing board appears to have been there for some time.
